Scholarship Application Eligibility
- The applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen, be healthy, law abiding and have no criminal record. The applicant meet the basic requirements for admission in our school for international students to study in China;
- Language level requirements:
- Applicants for undergraduate programs need to provide IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 75 or above, or proof of language proficiency at the corresponding level. Applicants with strong Chinese proficiency are preferred.
- Applicants for graduate programs need to provide IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 80 or above, or provide proof of language proficiency at the appropriate level. Strong Chinese proficiency is an advantage.
- Chinese-taught majors:
- Undergraduate programs require applicants to have a Chinese proficiency of 222 or above at HSK-4 level.
- The postgraduate programs require applicants to have Chinese proficiency at HSK-5 level or above.
- The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:

Application Procedures for China University of Petroleum scholarships
Create an account and log in at cie-registration.cup.edu.cn.
Click on “Online Application” and choose CUPB Scholarship in the application options to apply directly to the scholarship.
The application process within this application is very simple, and you are only required to fill in your personal information and academic qualifications, and then upload all required documents.
Once finished, send the application to the university. Note that for postgraduate programs, you need an acceptance document from one of the supervisors at the university.
Scholarship students should participate in the annual assessment on time every year. Students who do not participate in the annual assessment without any reason will be disqualified from continuing to enjoy the scholarship
