International Lighting Design Competition (L A M P) 2023 Details
L A M P is a small organization that devotes itself to promoting and connecting emerging talents to new markets in lighting design. Participation in L A M P as a finalist affords you the following benefits:
● Online feature on the L A M P website for the duration of one year following finalist announcement and listed on their site in perpetuity.
● As a finalist your design will be promoted through their newsletters and social media.
● Opportunity to be featured through their exclusive media partner – Design Milk – across their various media channels. Design Milk’s audience has over 500k+ readers monthly and more than 8 million social media followers.
Competition Categories
The competition is open to 3 Main Categories: MANUFACTURED, PROFESSIONAL & STUDENT with 5 Subcategories for each Student, Professional & Manufactured: Floor, Table & Pendant/Sconce. NEW THIS YEAR: Portable (Rechargeable) and Outdoor. .ONE ADDITIONAL CATEGORY is ACOUSTIC, this category is open to both Student and Professional Category designers.
Competition Rules
MANUFACTURED
● Entrant’s submission was not launched prior to 2023.
● Entries welcome from all disciplines including, but not limited to: Artists, Industrial Designers and Architects ● Entries welcome from both the Designer(s) and/or Manufacturer.
● Entry must be a produced, functioning light fixture, or prototype by the competition deadline.
● Entries should ideally have completed a Certification process in the respective country of submitter.
PROFESSIONAL
● Entrant’s business or professional design career is active.
● Entrants are not required to have a business.
● Entries welcome from all disciplines including, but not limited to: Artists, Industrial Designers and Architects
● Entries welcome from both Individuals and Teams of any size.
● Entries will be evaluated on their concept design (sketches, renderings and prototypes accepted).
● Entries do not have any type of wide distribution deal in place.
STUDENT
● Entrants must be, or have been, enrolled in a post-secondary design program or other artistically inclined program during 2023.
● Individuals or teams are welcome to submit.
● Entries will be evaluated on their concept design (sketches, renderings and prototypes accepted).

- MANUFACTURED: $175, Additional entries $100
- PROFESSIONAL: $150, Additional entries $75
